The Stach Story
Calvin spent eight years in the U.S. Navy as a machinist's mate and came home to Norfolk to keep fixing diesel engines, just on boats that do not leave for six months at a time. His English-style mustache is narrow, precise, and combed out to the sides like a gentleman from another century.
He says he picked the style because "everything else on a ship is gray and square, and I wanted one thing with flair."
Calvin plays upright bass in a weekend jazz trio, and the mustache has its own spotlight cue.
Needed one thing on the ship with flair.
The Bosun
Combs the mustache to port and starboard separately.
