Terms of Service

Last updated: August 1, 2026. These Terms are a binding agreement between you and MrStach.com. Please read them — they're shorter than the history of the handlebar.

1. Who We Are & What This Covers

MrStach.com ("Mr. Stach", "we", "us") is an entertainment publication, encyclopedia, community and collectible-card platform about mustaches. These Terms cover your use of the website, accounts, uploads, cards, voting, AI features, the newsletter, print and book orders, and everything else on the site. Our Privacy Policy and Submission Guidelines are part of these Terms.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the site and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to place orders.
Keep your password secret and your account information accurate. You're responsible for activity on your account.
One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone — real, fictional or mustachioed.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or put the community at risk.

3. Uploads, Your Content & Likeness License

You own what you upload. By submitting photos, text, stories, nicknames, names, social links and other content ("Your Content") you:

Confirm you own the rights to the photo or have permission from the photographer and every person in it, and that the person depicted is you or has consented to appear on Mr. Stach.
Grant Mr. Stach a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, resize, crop, adapt, display, distribute and promote Your Content and your name, nickname and likeness in connection with the Mr. Stach service — including on your public profile and card, in rankings, battles, Stach of the Day, social sharing previews, newsletters, site promotion, and print products ordered by you or, where sharing is enabled, by others building a Stach Book.
Understand the license lasts while your content is on the site and for a reasonable wind-down period after removal (cached copies, already-printed orders and other users' legitimately shared links may persist).
Can remove Your Content and end the license going forward by deleting your profile/account or contacting us.
Confirm Your Content complies with the Submission Guidelines: no minors, no nudity, no hate or harassment, no stolen photos, real mustaches (humor welcome), and respectful representation of fire, military and law-enforcement service.

We review submissions before publishing, may edit for formatting, and may decline or remove anything at our discretion. We don't claim ownership of Your Content and we never imply that any fire department, military branch or agency endorses Mr. Stach or any profile.

4. AI Transformations — Consent & Revocation

AI "Legend" editions are opt-in only. If you tick the AI consent box you authorize us to send your photo to our AI image provider to generate stylized versions for your card, and you grant us the same license in Section 3 for those variants. AI variants are labeled as AI-styled, are for entertainment, and may not resemble you perfectly (or at all — AI is weird). You may revoke consent at any time from your account profile; we will stop generating variants, remove them from your card and delete stored AI images within 30 days. We do not create AI images of people who have not consented.

5. Cards, Stats, Rankings & Votes

Mr. Stach Cards, scores, "stash power", levels, rankings and Hall of Fame placements are entertainment. They are not objective measurements of anything, including your mustache.
Card numbers are issued in sequence and are not transferable or redeemable for anything.
Voting must be done by a human, by hand, one vote at a time. Bots, scripts, vote-buying and vote rings will get votes removed and accounts closed. We may adjust or reset votes to preserve fairness.
We may feature, retire, re-render or restyle cards and battles as the platform evolves.

6. Print Orders & Stach Books

Printed cards, books, framed editions and gift cards are produced by a print-on-demand partner. Colors and trim may vary slightly from the on-screen card.
Until payment processing launches, orders are recorded as pending and confirmed by email; no payment is taken on the site and we never ask for card numbers on MrStach.com.
When you include other people's cards in a Stach Book you may only use cards whose owners have enabled sharing, and only for personal, non-commercial use.
Custom-printed items generally can't be returned unless defective. Defective or damaged items will be reprinted or refunded — contact us within 30 days.

7. Newsletter

The Stach Report is sent only to people who opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or your account. See the Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable Use

Don't: break the law; upload content you don't have rights to; post nudity, hate, harassment, threats or doxxing; upload photos of minors; scrape or bulk-download the site; interfere with security, rate limits or voting; use the site to send spam; or misrepresent your service, rank or affiliation. Humor about mustaches: encouraged. Disrespect toward firefighters, veterans, police or anyone else: not.

9. Our Content & Intellectual Property

Articles, profiles, style guides, card designs, logos, "Mr. Stach", "Respect the Stache" and the site's look and feel are owned by Mr. Stach or our licensors. You may share links and use the share tools we provide. You may download and print your own card for personal use. Otherwise, don't copy, republish or commercially exploit our content without written permission. Third-party names, likenesses and trademarks referenced in our editorial content belong to their owners and are used for commentary, criticism, news reporting and education.

10. Takedowns & DMCA

We respect the rights of photographers, rights holders and people who appear in photos. If you believe content infringes your copyright or uses your likeness without consent, send a notice through our contact form (subject "Takedown request") or to hello@mrstach.com with: the URL, a description of the material, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that you're authorized to act, and your signature. We remove content in response to valid notices, may notify the uploader, and may terminate repeat infringers. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address.

11. Community Reporting & Moderation

Every profile has a report link. We review reports, may remove content, and may suspend accounts. Moderation decisions are made in good faith and at our discretion; we're not obligated to explain every one, but we try.

12. No Medical Advice

Grooming, "stach care" and product content is educational and for entertainment only. It's not medical, dermatological or professional advice. Consult a professional for skin, hair or health concerns.

13. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Mr. Stach against claims arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of anyone's rights — including claims by people who appear in photos you uploaded.

15. Changes, Termination & Governing Law

We may update these Terms; we'll change the date at the top and notify account holders of material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept them. You can stop using the site at any time; we can suspend or end access for violations. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Your State], USA, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located there, unless applicable law gives you the right to a different forum. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.

16. Contests

Stach of the Month and other Mr. Stach contests are free to enter; no purchase is necessary and a purchase does not improve your chances. Each person may enter once (your approved community profile is your entry). Only moderated, approved photos are eligible. The winner is the approved profile that receives the most eligible votes during the stated contest window (profile votes and battle votes both count; ties break on all-time votes). Votes obtained through bots, bulk or duplicate accounts, paid voting or other manipulation are void and may disqualify the entry. Winners are announced within about 3 days of the close and must respond within 14 days of notification or the prize may go to the runner-up. Prizes are as described on the contest page, have no cash value, are not transferable, and ship to US addresses only unless otherwise stated; taxes are the winner's responsibility. By entering you allow Mr. Stach to feature your name, profile and photo in connection with the contest. Contests are void where prohibited and subject to change or cancellation at our discretion. Employees and contractors of Mr. Stach are not eligible.
