The Stach Story
Leonard walked a mail route in Savannah for thirty-four years and has worn the same English mustache since the Carter administration. It is white now, combed straight out to the sides, and his eleven grandchildren each believe they are its favorite.
He grew it because his own grandfather had one and "a Sykes man without a mustache is just a rumor."
Leonard sits on his porch most evenings, waves at the neighborhood, and rates passing mustaches on a scale of one to ten. Nobody has gotten a ten. He is a fair but demanding man.
A Sykes man without a mustache is just a rumor.
Mr. Postman
Delivered mail to the same house for 34 years; the family named their dog after his mustache.
