About Steve Harvey
Broderick Stephen Harvey was born in Welch, West Virginia, in 1957 and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He worked as an insurance salesman, boxer, and mail carrier before committing to stand-up comedy in 1985, and for a stretch in the late 1980s he lived out of his car between gigs. He hosted Showtime at the Apollo in the 1990s and starred in the WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show (1996–2002).
The Original Kings of Comedy (2000), directed by Spike Lee, made him a national name, and his syndicated morning radio show has been a staple since 2000. In 2010 he took over as host of Family Feud, transforming the long-running game show into a ratings hit largely through his reactions to contestants' answers. He also hosted a daytime talk show, Miss Universe pageants, and Celebrity Family Feud.
His 2009 book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man was a major bestseller and was adapted into a 2012 film. The mustache, meticulously trimmed and perfectly squared, has been a constant through every reinvention.
