For nine seasons on CBS (1993–2001), Chuck Norris's Cordell Walker upheld the law in Texas mostly with his feet, and the mustache rode along for every kick. It is a thick, reddish-brown chevron — sometimes paired with a beard, often standing alone — that became inseparable from Norris's public image.
Walker's look is a modern descendant of the western lawman lip: big hat, badge, denim and a mustache that means business. The show was a ratings staple for years, and when "Chuck Norris facts" swept the internet in the mid-2000s, the mustache became a punchline about invincibility in its own right.
